23.10.2012 Global Giants Exhibit at Dubai Helishow 2012 - the international civil & military helicopter technology and operations exhibition - early November
: The International biennial civil and military helicopter technology and operations exhibition, Dubai Helicopter Show 2012 will play host to global giants in the helicopter industry under the show’s Military, Homeland Security, Civil Defense, Air Medical and Rescue Sectors. The Dubai Helishow 2012 will be held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and with the support of Department of Civil Aviaition-Dubai on the 6th to 8th November 2012 at its new venue, the Grand Stand, Meydan, Dubai-U.A.E. Domus Group, Helishow official organizer, confirmed the attendance of nearly 100 exhibitors of the multi-billion dollar industry. Ministry of Defense U.A.E, Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing and Dubai Police Air Wing will attend to demonstrate latest plans and programs at the show’s 5th edition. The three-day-event will include daily conferences, workshops, and networking sessions that cater to each sector emerging challenges and needs. Conferences and networking sessions will be organized by Tangent Link, Ivan Kristoff, and MedEvac Foundation International (MFI).
Air Medical & Rescue sector’s Key players including PHI Air Medical, Gulf Helicopters, FLIR Systems, HR Smith Group, International Vertical Access Network (I.V.A.N) and Mark Mennie & MFI will be promoting their latest medical helicopter additions, aircraft medical equipments, thermal imaging systems in addition to their innovative search and
rescue products (SAR). Besides showcasing their best product offerings, exhibitors specialized in this sector are looking for expanding their presence in Middle Eastern countries and guaranteeing new business developments with various governmental, semi-governmental authorities and/or commercial and private organizations.
Industry insiders will also focus on presenting their air medical operations and maintenance programs, pilot training programs, helicopter transportation management protocols and aircraft technological advancements especially when applied to emergency aviation services for the purpose of saving human lives.
PHI Air Medical, a renowned medical helicopter manufacturer and a leader in the provision of air ambulance services across the USA and internationally, will explore in the show the possibility of establishing business relationships similar to the multimillion U.S. dollars contract they signed with Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) last April. The agreement involved the purchase of 8 new helicopters; it guaranteed providing necessary training to Saudi pilots and covered operation and management. Amongst giant attendees, HR Smith Group will be also represented. Commenting on their participation, Peter Gick, Senior Sales Engineer said, “The HR Smith Group of Companies will showcase its products and technologies to the commercial, civil defense and military helicopter sectors. The company manufactures aircraft antennas and SAR products to include Personal Locator Beacons, Emergency Locator Transmitters, deployable Crash Position Indicators, Homing Systems and Direction Finding Systems. The Helishow enables us to meet existing customers in the region and discuss new developments in technology which can further enhance their (SAR) capabilities”.
Another major highlight of the 2012 show is international aviator, high-rise rescue worker, and rope access expert in vertical and aerial operations, Ivan Kristoff. Known as the new Spiderman, Kristoff has dedicated his time to charitable causes in support of volunteer rescue units and initiatives. During the 2012 show, Ivan will explore his efforts on creating an International Vertical Access Network called (I.V.A.N.) along with his Eiger Highrise Rescue Team. He will also conduct a round-table workshop with around 30 experts who will exchange ideas on rescuing people from high-rise buildings and will aim definite practical benefits.
Speaking about the latest Air Medical and Rescue challenges, Kristoff said, “In the last few years Dubai became the tallest vertical city in the world where the city currently has 15-25% of all the world’s cranes. For a very short time, the landscape in Dubai achieved the pinnacle of vertical engineering and the challenge to provide efficient emergency response at extreme heights laid ahead. Our purpose is to minimize loss of life, injury, property damage and risk to the high-rise environment and maximize the rope rescue efficiency through innovation”.
On third day event, Mark Mennie Photography in conjunction with the MedEvac Foundation International (MFI) will be hosting a networking session for Gulf region and international air medical professionals. Taking place for the second time during the
Dubai Helishow, this meeting of the minds aims to connect medical professionals throughout the Gulf Region with those from all over the world. The session will introduce the research programs that the MedEvac Foundation International is funding as well as the other conferences, fundraisers and events they are involved with in the United States and Europe.
This year's show will include two unique one-day conferences organized by Tangent Link; High-Rise Aerial Firefighting & Rescue which is sponsored by Russian Helicopters and Heli-Borne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance which is sponsored by Griffon Aerospace Middle East, Schiebel and Thales. Both conferences include an exciting line-up of international experts who will share their knowledge and experience on the conference subjects.
